Hey Joe and Heidi, Good to see that y'all are doing well. We need to see an updated photo of Thomas -- certainly he has grown alot since the photo you have posted. He looks so happy, as do all of you. Life here since Katrina is very different - but I remain optimistic that good things lay ahead. Lily is growing up so fast and talking up a storm. Love it... Be well and kiss Thomas for me, Charlotte (Paul and Lily , too)

In a few weeks, I'll be at Fort Jackson for a couple months of training. I'll will definitely take a special trip (or two or three) to come and eat some "Real Food". I'll make sure to call ahead and pre-order a Red Velvet cake with ButterCream Icing. See you soon, Lou Carollo

I have lived in SC for 5 years, my entire family is still in NOLA, my son is a N.O. Police Officer and endured Katrina. I will visit your new place and wish you all the best. Sharon Sang
My husband and I, Bob and Ingrid Speer, who visited your restaurant two Saturdays ago were so impressed that we told our friends at work. You should be seeing several docs from Lakelands Emergency Physicians at your restaurant. Great place. Bob and Ingrid Speer, Abbeville, Old Monterey Section.
We had lunch at your place on Wednesday and were very impressed with the cleanliness of the place, the warm way we were treated by the entire staff, but especially the great food. The Cuban steak with the rice, salsa and black beans is the best we have had, and we are experts on Cuban food as my husband is from a Cuban background. We will be back for sure. Peter and Mary Perdomo
I loved my visit to Grits and Groceries on this week - great food, pretty women, goat watching - what's not to like? And it's on the way to Due West from Anderson. Erv Robinson aka Muddy Lee Perkins Lancaster SC 07/20/2006

A group of ladies from St. Catherine's Guild at Grace Episcopal Church will come there this Thurs. for lunch. We are all so excited because we have heard such rave reviews about your place. About 15 will be there. Can't wait. Nancy Lewis, Anderson, SC
The excellent site!!! good luck!!!
We've been to G and G 2 or 3 times and each time, the weather is delightful and we end up sitting at the outdoor tables. We love it. We end up eating with 10 to 15 people that we don't know and we all talk and laugh like we were all brought up in the same community. Never meet a stranger and never ever have anything that even resembles an unpleasant experience. Did I mention the food? It's great! One of my favorites is the tomato pie, my daughter loves the shrimp, gravy, grits combination and my husband loves ALL OF IT. I highly recommend it and I think if you have an ounce of country in you, you'll love it too. Regards, the Hollidays from Midlothian VA.
I never had a Po Boy for breakfast until this morning. The roast beef gravy with fries, can't beat it. The folks are taking some pimento cheese home. New York will be jealous. We'll see you again in a few weeks, kids in tow!
Hey There ! Love your new look on your web page.Hope to get down your way one day soon. We've made it thru another mountain winter and gettting ready for the busy season. Love always, Bart and Nancy
3-31-07 - Carolina Corvette Club completed a mystery cruise to your location Saturday. We had 19 people with 12 corvettes show up to experience the food. It was a great day. My husband and I ate with another couple there last Sat. and it was great! We live about 5 minutes above the Anderson Jockey Lot so really look forward to you coming to that area. Do you have any idea when that will be?
I've been to Grits and Groceries for 2 years now, and each time it gets better and better. I live in Greenwood and go to Clemson, and each time I have the chance to stop on the way back to school, it's always a treat. I remember when you guys only used to be open on the weekends, but now I saw that yall are open Tues-Sat, and that's awesome! Your chicken salad is literally the best I've ever had, and the warm pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top is the best way to finish off each trip. Thanks for opening such a friendly place to eat. Matt Koone
Just tried the lemon drop pound cake I bought yesterday after eating lunch at Grits and Groceries for the first time and, HOLY COW, that's the best pound cake I've ever had in my life! Lunch was delicious as well. You've got a great thing going over there! Leah

Hey Heidi and Joe, Gresham and I really enjoyed our brunch last week. We live about 65 mins. from you guys, but it was certainly worth the drive. I am bringing my mom and my 4 sisters this Saturday for brunch. I usually prepare a Christmas brunch for all of them, but after I told them how wonderful your food was, they asked, when are you taking us there? So, we will see you this Saturday. I am also bringing my daughter, Madison and a couple other girls, so there will be about 9 of us. I hope you can accomodate us. I know you will be busy!! See you soon, Natalie Barrett
Hey Joe and Heidi. We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday Breakfast. It was some good eatin' - apple fritters, praline bacon, shrimp and grits, and french toast. Your homemade biscuits are wonderful. They taste just like the ones my grandmother made. Plus, the coffee tastes great. Well worth the drive! I can't wait to try some of the recipes in the cookbook. Thanks for the hospitality and excellent food. Love to all, Crystal (cousin) and Michael Buff - Greer, SC
I have been to Grits and Groceries for Saturday brunch 4 times in the last 8 weeks...I wish I could make it every week! Everything is good, but the standouts of my last few visits have to be the apple fritters, praline bacon, the pork with the yummy tangy sauce, the cranberry crumb pie I had the Saturday after Christmas and the PB and J Pie I had last Saturday. I can't wait to get back for more of your delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and friendly servers! --Kimberly Yates
hi, Heidi, it's Swati from New Orleans! I've been googling you off and on for months....one of these days, I'm going to bring my Mom and myself from Greenville for lunch! What can you do vegetarian for Mom? Me,personally, I can't wait to eat your crack bacon...there's nothing like it in this world!
We had brunch with you today. It was great. Sat at the bar and enjoyed seeing the prep work. Really enjoyed being served by Drew Barrymore!! Do you take reservations for 6? We will be back! Enjoy your weekend of rest. Martha
On March 1 I came to brunch and everything was amazing as usual. I got to taste the oysters florentine (YUM), the pork sweet potato hash (YUM), the bananas foster waffle (my cousin had cinnamon ice cream with her waffles...great combo!), the strawberry fig pie (YUM) and the molasses ice cream (YUM). I really appreciate the unexpected combinations and flavors you offer. The molasses ice cream was a new concept for me and so good! I always find several new and exciting options every time I come and that's what keeps me coming back. Anybody can do the breakfast or brunch standbys, but I so enjoy the new spins on the foods we all know and the completely new things I've never even thought of before. Thanks so much!

Hello, a friend and myself have started coming to your place once a week for lunch.A couple of weeks ago we had shrimp ettoufee. This was the first time we had ever had this dish. It was great, can't wait to see it on your daily specials again, hope it's soon, and that shrimp po boy, o my goodness, you definately need extra napkins. We will be there on wednesday for the seafood casserole. Sounds great.

My first visit, but certainly not my last. Not only did we enjoy the delicious Porterhouse Porkchop and Eggs Elizabeth, but we met the nicest couple that was willing to share their table with my friend and me. We even exchanged email addresses to share a recipe we talked about while there. Brought home the fried pies...heated and eaten with icecream ...to die for!! Thanks for all of your hard work. Angie Garrison and Patricia Lusk
Crab Cakes are, next to wings, my favorite food. I have had them in many places including Myrtle Beach and West Palm Beach. Yours puts all the rest to shame. I would LOVE your recipe.....any chance you would share?vanessa chastain
